Bluebird opened its doors in 1953, starting off with selling popcorn and potato chips at the Western Springs Speedway in Auckland. Bluebird is now one of the biggest and most iconic snack food manufacturers in NZ, with the majority of its products being produced in its factory located in Auckland. Most raw materials like potatoes and corn are sourced from local growers around New Zealand.
Project Requirements
The client required a durable floor coating suitable for the busy production environment. This meant a chemical and abrasion resistant, non-slip, non-tainting, hygienic, food grade, easy clean, flooring system that would be suitable for a broad range of service temperatures.
Challenges
The installation time for the Sikafloor coating system was limited as the facility is an essential service for food manufacturing and could not close for a long period of time.

Sikafloor® PurCem products were used in the food manufacturing facility due to their moisture tolerant, fast curing and non-tainting (no odour) properties.
