2023
Tokoroa, New Zealand
Project Requirements
The project required hygienic, factory-grade flooring, sealants and structural solutions to their new $100M plus processing plant.
Challenges
- The speed of construction and Tokoroa’s climate demanded a flooring system that was tolerant of winter site conditions and ‘green’ concrete.
- Dairy plant construction sites are often cold, damp, very congested and busy.
- Construction deadlines had to meet the processing season.
- Significant number of tradespeople and equipment on siteat any one time.
Sika Solution
Sikafloor-21 PurCem provided a very low-odour, fast curing solution that was rapid to install, tolerant of site conditions and caused minimal disruption to other trades. As well as being practical to install, Sikafloor PurCem products meet the demands of processing once operational:
- They meet the strictest hygiene standards
- Are impervious to liquids
- Are extremely durable
- Have high chemical (CIP) resistance
- Installed correctly, will not crack or de-bond
- provide a slip-resistant surface
These properties make Sikafloor PurCem the perfect choice for new or existing dairy processing environments. PurCem systems provide many years of hygienic protection for concrete floors in demanding processing environments.
In addition, Sika sealants and SikaGrout-212 were used for structural grouting and floor and wall panel sealing.
