Victoria University, Wellington
Project Requirements
The roofs of the Twin Buildings had started to leak, affecting the spaces below. Victoria University wanted to re-roof both areas but keep the existing torch-on roofing substrate for the lower roof.
Challenges
- High wind loadings
- Minimal noise was required, as there are classrooms below
- Existing roofs could not be exposed to weather for extended periods in case of a change in weather conditions
Sika Solution
Sika was able to offer a complete supplier and installer solution for the client.
- Top plant room roof - Sarnafil S 327-20 L sheet roofing membrane was applied over polystyrene insulation to the valleys in the roof
- Lower top floor Roof – Sika Index Proteaduo Triarmato (Sika Index torch on membrane) was applied over polystyrene insulation
