Americold Christchurch
Americold is one of the world’s largest owners and operators of temperature-controlled infrastructure. It owns and operates 250 temperature-controlled warehouses all around the world, and there are six facilities in NZ. Americold’s Christchurch facility roofs were leaking and needed to be waterproofed to stop water getting into the insulated roofing panels.
Project Requirements
To provide a waterproofing system that would protect the insulated panel freezer roof from rain and water damage.
Challenges
- A solution that could be installed with little preparation to the insulated roof panels – to stop further corrosion
- Had to provide a system that could be used over the late Autumn and Winter months
Sika Solution
Sarnafil S-327-20 L is a polyester reinforced, multi-layer, synthetic roof waterproofing sheet based on polyvinyl chloride (PVC) containing ultraviolet light stabilizers. It was used as a detailing membrane for the gutters and barge roll locations. Sarnafil® S 327-20 L is a hot air weldable roof membrane formulated for direct exposure and designed for use in all global climatic conditions - providing protection during Autumn and Winter months. Sarnafil G 410-20 L was used as detailing membrane for gutters and barge roll locations.
