Usage

Sika® Stabilizer-440 RCR is suitable for treating the general concrete returning to the batching plant for any reasons and that cannot be reused in the same day production. Adding Sika® Stabilizer-440 RCR to the returned concrete as per the application information below, will turn fresh concrete in a granular, dry material, like an artificial aggregate that might be conveniently used in the construction industry, either in concrete production or engineered backfilling, once completely dry.

Storage Conditions

Store Sika® Stabilizer-440 RCR in very dry conditions at temperature between 5°C and 35°C.

Application

Dispensing

  • Ascertain the volume of the concrete returned;
  • Ensure that the slump of the returned concrete does not exceed 140 mm (AS1012.3.1);
  • Add one bag of Sika® Stabilizer-440 RCR for each cubic metre of returned concrete directly in the agi-truck barrel;
  • Mix at maximum speed, 1 minute/treated cubic metre or till the concrete granulates;
  • Unload the granulated materials after the treatment in a covered area in layers, no more than 25 cm thick;
  • Rework quickly (lift-remix) the granulated by-product by using the wheel loader in use at the batching plant after 3-4 hours from the initial process. Keep the material in dry conditions for at least 24 hours.

A solar day after the treatment, the granulated material can be collected and stored for the next use. At this stage a further remix might be needed to ensure even dimensions of the treated material.
