SikaControl® FD-100

INTEGRAL FRESH CONCRETE DENSIFIER

SikaControl® FD-100 is a concrete admixture formulated to densify freshly mixed concrete for interior flooring applications. SikaControl® FD-100 meets the requirements of ASTM C494/AASHTO M 194, Type S.

SikaControl® FD-100 is formulated to increase the density of freshly mixed non-air entrained concrete and to help achieve concrete properties as described in ACI 302.1R - Guide to Concrete Floor and Slab Construction.    SikaControl® FD-100 also provides:   
  • Reduced risk of blistering and delamination,
  • Improved aesthetics with minimal surface defects,
  • Improved finish of polished surfaces,
  • Reduced risk of claims related to air,
  • Improved concrete uniformity and durability.
   SikaControl® FD-100 does not contain intentionally added chlorides.

Usage

SikaControl® FD-100 is designed for use in non-air entrained concrete applications only and is effective in concrete containing supplementary cementitious materials. SikaControl® FD-100 is especially suitable for use in interior concrete slabs receiving a machined hard trowel finish such as:

Shelf Life

Shelf life when stored in original packaging in dry warehouse conditions between 5 - 35°C is twelve months from the date of manufacture.

Storage Conditions

SikaControl® FD-100 should be stored above 5°C. If frozen, thaw and agitate thoroughly to return to a normal state. Protect from direct sunlight.

Application

Application Information

Dispensing

Measure the required quantity manually or by automated dispenser. Add SikaControl® FD-100 directly into the mixing water or to the freshly mixed concrete at the end of the batching cycle. Do NOT mix with dry cement. SikaControl® FD-100 may be dispensed on-site directly prior to placement. Care must be taken to mix thoroughly. When used in combination with other admixtures, dispense each admixture separately into the mix.

    

In cases when SikaControl® FD-100 is stored in bulk tanks, periodic checks of dispensing lines are recommended to prevent product leakage. Use only oil resistant gaskets and hoses. SikaControl® FD-100 may cause deterioration of rubber.

  

Compatibility: SikaControl® FD-100 can be used in combination with other Sika admixtures and can be successfully used in mix designs utilizing supplementary cementitious materials.
Consumption

Recommended Dosage

The typical dosage rate of SikaControl® FD-100 will vary between 50 - 200 mL / 100 kg of cement or cementitious materials. Various factors will affect the dosage rates.

  

Trial mixes with the actual materials should be conducted to determine the required dosage for optimum performance.
  

To the extent specialized materials are used, extreme ambient temperatures are encountered, or for other unusual project conditions, dosage rates outside the typical range may be required. For dosage rates outside the typical range, please contact your local Sika representative or the Sika Technical Services Department at 1-800-933-7452.
