Sika® Antisol® A-4

Water dispersed, acrylic copolymer based concrete curing compound

Sika® Antisol® A-4 a water dispersed acrylic copolymer based curing compound. It is ready to use and simple to apply. Sika® Antisol® A-4 will form a thin film, covering the surface of the concrete to prevent premature water loss due to evaporation.

Sika® Antisol® A-4 provides the following beneficial properties to the concrete surfaces:
  • Reduces incidence of plastic cracking
  • Reduces shrinkage
  • Reduces surface dusting

Usage

Sika® Antisol® A-4 is sprayed on to newly laid concrete surfaces to form a thin film barrier against premature water loss, without disturbing the normal setting action.

Shelf Life

5 to 6.5 m2 per litre depending on wind, humidity and temperature condition. Actual dosage to be finalised on the basis of site trials.
Application steps

APPLICATION

Spray application on newly laid concrete as soon as surface water evaporates. Roller and brush can be used for hardened concrete.

For vertical surfaces, apply immediately after removal of formwork.

After application, the area must be protected from rain for at least 2-3 hours.

Regular cleaning of spray jets is recommended during application to prevent clogging

Early application of Sika® Antisol® A-4 to the concrete surface will help reduce shrinkage cracks from occurring by significantly reducing the amount of water evaporating from the concrete after the coating has been applied. However, curing compounds will not prevent the effects of any cracking that may occur as a result of thermal contraction, long term drying shrinkage or slab designs which restrain lateral movement. Careful attention must always be paid to the positioning of construction joints and shrinkage control joints.
