Sikasil® Color (NZ)

Universal tile silicone

Sikasil® Color (NZ) is an acetic-crosslinking silicone sealant that is solvent-free and resistant to mildew.

Usage

Sikasil® Color (NZ) reacts on contact with the humidity in the air, and cures into a permanently elastic, rubbery substance. Sikasil® Color (NZ) can be used as a sealant for glass, ceramics, anodized aluminium and epoxy or polyester panels. It is suitable for application in health/hygiene areas for forming expansion joints between tiles, tubs, sinks, for sealing showers and forming expansion joints between walls and floors.

Ambient Air Temperature

Application temperature: minimum +5°C, maximum +40°C.

Curing Time

24 hours at 2mm thick, 7 days at 8mm thick (dependant on temperature, porosity of the substrates, humidity and ventilation).

Skin Time

~ 20 minutes (dependant on temperature, porosity of the substrates, humidity and ventilation).

Application steps

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION

All surfaces must be clean, dry and grease free. Ensure the joint is free from excess tile adhesive. For a neat finish, apply masking tape to both sides of the joint.

CLEANING OF TOOLS

Clean tools and equipment immediately after use with Sika® Thinner C. Cured product can only be removed mechanically. Wash hands and skin thoroughly in warm soapy water.
