Sikanol® M (NZ)

Concentrated plasticiser for masonry mortar

A liquid, ready to use air entrainer and plasticiser that improves the cohesion and workability of masonry mortars and renders.

  • Sikanol® M (NZ) is very economical and convenient to use.
  • Sikanol® M (NZ) reduces the surface tension of water, allowing it to blend more thoroughly and effectively throughout the mortar to achieve a more consistent mix.
  • Plasticity, workability and cohesion of the mortar are significantly improved by the entrainment of evenly dispersed micro bubbles of air throughout the mix.
  • Under normal conditions, a noticeable increase in the sand : cement ratio can be achieved without any loss of cohesion, resulting in a reduction of cement used.
  • The use of Sikanol® M (NZ) means that the water content of the mix can be reduced. This can lead to increased compressive strength and adhesion.
  • Sikanol® M (NZ) can also be used in cement/lime mixes if desired.

Usage

Sikanol® M (NZ) is ideal for use in all types of mortars for blockwork, brickwork and external roughcast or plastering applications. Sikanol® M (NZ) is suitable for use with all types of Portland cements and lime.

Recommended Dosage

Standard dosage is 60 ml/40 kg bag of cement. Up to 100 ml/40 kg may be required for hand mixed mortar.

 
Application steps

MIXING

  • For the best results and most effective dispersion, Sikanol® M (NZ) should be premixed with the batching water prior to the addition of sand and cement.
  • In the case of hand mixed mortars the dosage rate may need to be increased.
  • Do not mix Sikanol® M (NZ) with dry cement.
