Sika® Formol

CONCRETE FORM RELEASE AGENT

Sika® Formol is a chemical release agent that has been designed and formulated to function as a bondbreaker between formwork or moulds and freshly placed concrete.

  • Effective on both steel and timber moulds

Usage

Sika® Formol is primarily used as a general purpose release agent on the construction site. It is ideal for application to a wide range of surfaces such as timber, steel or fibreglass.

Shelf Life

Twelve (12) months from date of manufacture when stored as stated.

Storage Conditions

Store in unopened original containers in dry conditions between +5°C and +30°C. Keep containers closed and in a well ventilated area when not in use. Do not expose to direct sunlight in storage.

Application steps

APPLICATION

  • Sika® Formol is supplied ready to use and should not be diluted.
  • Surfaces to be coated should be clean and free from grease, dirt or old concrete.
  • The optimum method of application is by conventional spray equipment, however, a brush or roller can also be used.
  • Sika® Formol should be applied at the stated coverage rates to obtain a thin and even film over the entire surface of the mould or formwork.
  • Any excess liquid remaining on the surface after application should be mopped off. Allow 1 ‐ 3 hours to dry before pouring concrete.
