SikaGlaze® PU

UV stabilized clear polyurethane in a gloss or matt option

SikaGlaze® PU is a one component, non-yellowing, aliphatic, moisture curing, polyurethane gloss coating containing UV light absorbers. It comes in a gloss and a matt version.

Usage

Application steps

APPLICATION

  • SikaGlaze® PU is applied using a brush or roller.
  • It is recommended that two (2) to three (3) coats of SikaGlaze® PU be applied (depending on the porosity and surface texture of the substrate).
  • The intercoat period is a minimum of 6 hours, maximum 18 hours (@ 20°C, 50% RH). If the intercoat period is exceeded then the surface should be sanded using sand/emery paper, and cleaned & wiped with Sika Thinner C. Allow the solvent from the Sika Thinner C to evaporate before applying the next coat.
  • Matt Finish: Use SikaGlaze® PU Gloss for build coats and apply 1 coat of SikaGlaze® PU Matt as a finish coat.
  • For a slip resistant finish add approx. 20g of Sikafloor Spheres per 1 litre of SikaGlaze® PU. Refer to Sika Aggregates data sheet. Only apply slip resistant finish to 2nd coat of a three coat system (1st and 3rd coats are to be without spheres).

CLEANING

All equipment should be cleaned immediately after use with Sika Thinner C.

To maintain the appearance of the floor after application, SikaGlaze® PU must have all spillages removed immediately and must be regularly cleaned using rotary brush, mechanical scrubbers, scrubber dryer, high pressure washer, wash and vacuum techniques, etc. using suitable detergents and waxes.
